We really enjoyed our time in a Sidmouth. Having visited on day trips know it to be laid back and uncommercialised. The town is clean and well kept. We like it that there are so many other places to visit within a short distance: cream tea in Budleigh, coffee on the beach in Beer, fish and chips in Seaton. All this deserved after losing ourselves on a longer than planned walk on Peaks Hill and Mutters Moor. A great walk if you don’t take the wrong track!

We spent an interesting hour in Sidmouth Museum on a wet afternoon the day we arrived.

The location of the cottage is good meaning there is no need to use a car to get down into the town but a pleasant walk through the Byes.

We joined in some local things. Nigel went on a bat count one evening taking place in the Byes and we both went to talk given as part of Sidmouth Science Festival.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. One of the best self catering properties we have rented.
